Do you collect any personally identifiable information about me when I use my BC Vault?
We do not collect any personally identifiable information when you use your BC Vault unless you expressly send them to us (eg, bug report or support ticket).
There is no way to link a specific BC Vault device to its addresses. BC Vault contains no serial number or other unique identifiers when it is shipped to the user.
We do not collect any sort of analytics, statistics or any other information that is not explicitly needed. Here is the list of all the information that is sent to our servers:
- Public IP Address (Needed for TCP/IP communication itself).
- Public blockchain addresses of the wallets (To be able to process the transactions themselves, return wallet balances…).
- Versions of the BC Vault Application and BC Vault Firmware (To be able to offer latest upgrades).
- Operating system the application is running on (To be able to offer latest upgrades.
Your IP Address is immediately anonymised and not retrievable from the server logs. The rest of the information is either publicly available (on the blockchain itself) or anyhow visible to any website you connect to with your browser.
We take the privacy of our users very seriously and work very hard to avoid collecting any unnecessary information, even if it would be useful to us.
Should you wish to anonymise your IP address (even if we do anonymise it immediately) we recommend you use a VPN connection while using BC Vault.
